PHOTOGRAPHERS FAQ
Can I submit photos to sell? Yes. Please sign up and upload as many images as you like. It is completely free to upload and sell your images and you will recieve 40% commision for all the photographs that you sell. Only JPG file types of 4MP (2400x1600 pixels) and above will be accepted. Join here.
What other information is needed when I upload images? When you upload your photographs to localfoto.co.uk you will also need to provide information about the image. You will need to supply a title, description, category and appropriate keywords, we like to allow freedom with the information you provide but please bear in mind what a potential customer may be searching for.
How & When do I get paid? Photographers are paid on the 28th of each month via the payment method chosen when signing up (paypal or cheque) subject to a minimum payment of £25.
How long does it take for my images to be processed? During busy periods please allow up to 14 days for images to be processed but normally your images will be processed within 1-2 days.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES & ADVICE
What type of images do you require? We are currently interested in photographs from the UK which show off a specific area, photographs will generally need to fit into the following categories - landscape, lifestyle, environmental, concept & nature. Please browse the website to get a better idea of what we require.
Why has my image been rejected? We appreciate a lot of time and effort goes into uploading images, when images are rejected it does not mean they are a bad photo, but more likely would be unlikely to sell on our particular website. Please read the following most common rejection reasons.
Composition issues images lack a clear focus, too busy, images are badly composed (subject not well positioned), images contains foreign elements that distract from the main focus of the photo.
Missing information without giving your image a title, description & keywords images will automatically be rejected in most cases, a potential buyer has no way of finding your image without this information.
Image quality image may not be high enough resolution or contain noise/grain.
Copyright Issues images may contain faces/copyrighted logos etc.
Wrong subject images do not fit into any of the categories that we offer for sale.
How can I improve sales of my photographs? For your images to sell, buyers must be able to find them. Giving your images as much information as possible will make them a lot more likely to be found and purchased. It also helps overall sales if you place a link to localfoto.co.uk on your website/blog.
